Falcons enter B-League semis
THE pair of Kingford Llovit and Blair Capillo edged the tandem of Mark Lacey and Danrisse Inductivo, 5-3, in the 10-ball doubles tiebreaker (evening session) to lift the Adamson Falcons into a 2-1 victory over Far Eastern University Tamaraws and enter the semifinal round of the 2nd season National Collegiate Billiards League (B-League) at the Star Billiards Center in Grace Village, Quezon City on Sunday.
Lacey dismantled Capillo, 7-2, in the 10 ball competition (afternoon session) to forge a tie-breaker. Earlier, Adamson’s Arvee Cabrera defeated Rocky Alcazar, 7-5, in the 9 ball competition (morning session).
With the win, the Falcons arranged a semifinal duel against tournament favorite University of Santo Tomas Tigers.
Rodlin John Bautista downed Michael Elduay, 7-4, in the 9-ball event while Cedric Gonzales toppled Rolando Uberas, 7-3, in the 10-ball competition to power the Growling Tigers into a 2-0 victory over the San Sebastian College Stags.
Defending champion Lyceum of the Philippines University and AMA Computer University trounced their respective rivals to complete the Final Four.
Lyceum nipped Fatima University, 2-1, while AMA stunned Letran, 2-1.
In the juniors division, last year’s champion Xavier School defeated Pasig Catholic College High School, 2-1, to arrange a titular showdown with Sto. Nino, a 2-1 winner over Claret. Liberty Icao
