“We’re very thankful to the local government of Misamis Oriental for supporting our mission of promoting chess in the countryside,” said Pichay.
Dubbed as the 2012 Governor Oscar S. Moreno National Age Group and Juniors Chess Championships, the event offers seats to international competitions for players 20 years old and below.
The host province provides free hotel accommodation to all participants at the Budgetel Hotel right at the heart of the city.
“We want to show the hospitality of Misamis Oriental through this event,” said Moreno.
