Mosyon ni Miriam, tinabla ni Enrile

TULUYAN nang ibinasura ni Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile ang mosyon ni Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago na ipatawag ang limang opisyal ng mga bankong binanggit ni Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales sa sinasabing pinagtaguan ng dollar accounts ni Chief Justice Renato Corona.

“The presiding officer of the impeachment trial hereby denied the motion to call in the Senate , witnesses motu propio, to testify in this proceedings,” ayon kay Enrile.

Naunang, hiniling ni Senate Majority Leader Vicente Sotto III na kailangan nang magdesisyon ng presiding officer sa mosyon ni Santiago na ipatawag ang limang bank managers upang magbigay linaw sa sinasabin tagong yaman ni Corona sa naturang bangko.

Samantala, pinatawad na rin ni Enrile si Harvey Keh, hepe ng Kaya Natin Movement, matapos itong atasan ng impeachment court na magbigay ng linaw kung bakit hindi siya kakasuhan ng contempt matapos itong magbigay ng di-dokumentadong liham sa Senado upang maipluwensiyahan ang paglilitis kay Corona.

“During our trial last week, Mr Harley Keh appears here for the defense, asking him to show cause for not citing him in contempt. This court has spoken, he has committed improper conduct as far as the court is concerned, in view of that the gentleman’s apology, the order to cite him in contempt, and sho cause order, and in spirit of liberality, this Court admonishes him, so ordered,” ayon kay Enrile.
