“We are not wasting the money. It’s a loan. IMF would pay us back the loan. Non-monetarily, it’s going to help us because it’s going to help the economy of Europe. We have a substantial number of OCWs and we have to protect… It’s in our interest to protect—to help those economies because we have a substantial number of Filipinos there. These are the consequences of a decision, of a possible decision—possible consequences if we do not help these—the global economy,” ayon kay Presidential spokesman Edwin Lacierda.

“We have addressed the concerns of our social alleviation programs are being addressed, are being funded by the national government. In fact, we have increased a funding for this year, for instance, for next year. Like I said, CCT has been increased to 45 billion; the beneficiaries from the 3.1 to 3.8 million families. So we got education <is> improving. We are addressing that issues on the classrooms. We are addressing separate from that because we… BSP is looking into our interests as well. So they may ask the Bangko Sentral but the Bangko Sentral is already committed the one billion and it’s going to be returned to us in any event. There is no fear that it will not be returned to us,” ani Lacierda.

Problema sinosolusyunan

“We can assure them that no one will be left behind and that’s the reason why we’re pushing for advancing further the budget for our social programs. We are advancing forth, again. Our plea that Congress pass the sin tax bill because we generate a substantial revenue from a reform sin tax measure,” ani Sec. Lacierda.
