“There are already… Dolphy has already been nominated several times, I mean, there are several letters addressed to CCP for his nomination as a national artist. Again, but… I was informed that there is a TRO before the Supreme Court. Remember the case of, in 2009, Carlo Caparas and Cecille Guidote-Alvarez. So there’s a pending case before the Supreme Court. So there’s that case now. So I’m not familiar with how the NCCA and the CCP boards are going to decide on the matter of Mr. Quizon because of the pending TRO or status quo ante before the Supreme Court. And certainly, the President acknowledges, personally believes that he has contributed a lot to the arts,” aniya pa rin.
“And in fact, in his words, he has contributed tremendously to what we call “art for man’s sake,” ani Lacierda.
“We recognize the process and it is a very rigid process. There are several tiers in nominating a national artist. We would like to respect the process. So we will leave it with both the NCCA and the CCP because these are the two joint boards who will nominate the national artist,” anito.
“You know President Noynoy has been given my dad so much respect. He gave my dad the Golden Heart award. He gave that award, the highest recognition a President can give to an individual, he gave that to my father,” ayon kay Eric Quizon.
