“At this point, the efforts are being made to locate him. Kasi po merong mga witness na nagsabi that he left, I think the Sulu State College kung saan po siya nakatira, on his own volition dahil parang meron po siyang kasama at umalis po siya doon sa lugar nang hindi naman po—mukhang hindi naman po daw under duress or under force. So now the efforts are being made to try to locate him. From what we understand, the local government. Tapos ‘yung mayor pa daw po was able to interview them. And from what I understand, the local government assigned someone to him para samahan daw po sila habang nandoon. But I don’t know what had happened. Apparently the team of the reporter was able to leave without telling, I think, the person that was assigned to them. Parang hindi ho yata nakapag-coordinate. So now there are efforts being made to locate him. Kasi, I think, the reporter had also spoken of plans to interview other people,” ayon kay Usec. Valte.
“At present the local government is handling this. Because from what we understand, they offered security it was refused. ‘Yung naging compromise po nila is someone from the local government, I think, a local would go with him para to guide them also and to make sure that they don’t run into any harm. But for some reason or another, there was a lack of coordination or I don’t know what happened really but nakaalis po sila with somebody else other than the person that was assigned to them by the local government. So now efforts are being made to locate him,” ani Valte.
