PNoy’s mobilization of AFP, PNP for land distribution alarms farmers group
FARMERS group expressed alarm to President Benigno Aquino’s marching orders to mobilize the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Philippine National Police for the so-called distribution of lands.
The Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas (KMP) said Aquino’s Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) is now a full-blown counter-insurgency program.
“We expect an additional deployment of state security forces and escalation of human rights violations in Hacienda Luisita and in the heavily militarized province of Quezon, among others,” says Marbella noting that “more than eight battalions of the military were deployed and are wreaking havoc in Quezon province’s hacienda belt or the Bondoc Peninsula area,”KMP deputy secretary general Willy Marbella.
The KMP vowed that “the Filipino peasantry will fight tooth and nail to frustrate Aquino and his yellow gang’s continuing exploitation and deception of farmers using the bogus and anti-peasant CARP itself.”
“Peasant marches and protests will continue to hound Aquino’s haciendero regime. He will have a taste of the peasants’ wrath in the next few days leading to his State of the Nation Address and beyond,” Marbella said.
