Lacierda sa Chinese media: Maging mahinahon

UMAASA ang Malakanyang na iiwasan na ng Chinese media ang mga pahayag na nagpapainit lamang sa tensyon sa pagitan ng Pilipinas at China kaugnay sa Scarborough (Panatag) Shoal.

Ang katuwiran ni Presidential Spokesman Edwin Lacierda ay ginagawa naman ng Pilipinas ang lahat para makalma ang tensyon at iniiwasang ma-escalate ang problema.

“I think we have done and we have been prudent in our statements. We have, from the very, very start, we have emphasized that we intend to deescalate tensions. There is no benefit for us to be recalcitrant in our statements and from the President, to the SFA, to the various spokespersons we have exercised restraint and prudence in our statements,” anito.

Sa ulat, inakusahan ng China Daily ang Pilipinas na iligal ang ginagawa nitong pag-angkin sa walong maliliit na isla sa West Philippine Sea.

Ang China Daily ang itinuturing na ‘mouthpiece’ ng Peoples’ Liberation Army (PLA) ng China.

“I suppose it would be good if our Chinese counterparts would also assist Chinese media to exercise restraint in their interest of resolving tensions and in the interest of not sowing unwanted or unneeded tensions between two countries especially among the people,” ang pahayag ni Sec. Lacierda.
