Silver medal, 2 bronze sinungkit ng PHL sa world taekwondo

ISANG silver medal at dalawang bronze ang ibinulsa ng 17-man team ng Pilipinas mula sa 12th World University Taekwondo Championships sa Daejin University Gymnasium sa Pocheo City, South Korea.

Muntik nang makaginto si Mary Anjelay Pelaez ng San Beda College, pero ginapi siya ni Weiyu Tsai ng Chinese Taipei sa women’s finweight finals, 8-10.

Nasukbitan ng dalawang bronze sina Amoedo Lorenzo ng Espanya at Kim Park ng South Korea.

Sa men’s individual poomsae category, nakuha ni Marvin Gabriel Vidal ang bronze medal. Nakadale si Shaneen Ched Sia ng tanso, Patricia Mae Sembrano at Leonarda Nicole Landrito sa women’s team three poomsae division sa second day ng event.

Nabigo naman sa medalya sina  featherweight Samuel Thomas Morrison, finweight Ralph Erick Bunda, flyweight Justin Benedict Medina, bantamweight Paul Romero, lightweight Ron Servito, welterweight Christian Al dela Cruz, middleweight Kristopher Robert Uy, flyweight Ma. Isabella Erika Mora, bantamweight Karla Jane Alava, featherweight Jade Zafra, welterweight Jane Rafaelle Narra at middleweight Kristie Elaine Alora.

Sunod na sasalihan ng Philippine Taekwondo Association ang 4th World Cup Men’s at Women’s Team Championships sa Nobyembre 23-25 sa Santa Cruz , Aruba.
