KODAO productions, a community based media outfit, with 16 radio blocktime programs simultaneously aired a song for the release of 385 political prisoners as Pres. Noynoy Aquino gave his third State of the Nation Address.
The protest song “Awit ng mga Detenidong Pulitikal” is composed and arranged by Clementine Castro of the pop group Orange and Lemons and was performed by The Camerawalls for the Concerned Artists of the Philippines (CAP).
The simultaneous broadcast is timed with nationwide SONA protest actions.
The Kodao affiliated radio programs aired the song in Davao, Iligan, Cebu, Tacloban, Dumaguete, Bacolod, Iloilo, Sorsogon, Legazpi, Naga, Lucena, in Central and Northern Luzon, up to Hongkong and Italy.
Among the political prisoners in the country are 14 National Democratic Front members and consultants engaged in peace negotiations with the Aquino administrations.
