British, 61, held for molesting driver’s daughter
LUCENA CITY— A British national is now lock up in jail after he was complained of molesting a daughter of his driver who is a 7 year- old girl, several times inside his residence at Pleasantville Subd., Bgy. Ilayang Iyam, here.
Senior Insp. Lorie Taguiam who heads the Women’s and Children Protection Desk identified the arrested suspect as Nevelle Cadoux, 61, a retired business man. She said Cadoux who is now a pensioner has been living in the city for 22 years already.
Taguiam said the suspect was arrested on orders of City police head, Supt. Ramon Balauag after the victim through her aunt, Jeanyvi Romano, lodged a complaint to the police station against him.
According to Taguiam, the girl told prober PO1 Ana Paral that the suspect sucked her vagina and inserted his finger to it in separate occasions.
“Ayon sa biktima, sinisipsip daw ng suspect ang ari niya at saka ipinapasok ‘yong daliri sa loob nito. Kahit paikot-ikutin namin ang tanong sa bata, ganito pa rin ang kanyang sinasabi sa amin”, said Taguiam.
Asked how the girl’s ordeal was discovered, Taguiam said Romano hinted there was something wrong happening after she learned that the girl was being fetched several times by her 13 year-old brother from her school to the suspect’s house.
She said this was confirmed by the girl’s brother when asked at the police station during the investigation.
“Inamin noong kuya ng biktima na kinakaon niya ang kapatid sa eskwelahan at inihahatid niya iyon sa bahay ng suspect, pero hindi niya alam na inaabuso pala ito ng suspect. Binibigyan daw siya ng P100 ng suspect at ang P6.00 ay ibinibigay naman niya sa biktima para pambili ng candy”, she said.
When confronted, Taguiam said the girl revealed everything to Romano shortly after they attended a Sunday mass last July 29.
It was learned that the girl’s father, Edwin Barina, 43, has been employed as personal driver of the suspect for almost nine years and that the latter is also a god father of the victim.
Inside the lock-up jail, Cadoux belied all the charges hurled against him saying it was a set up. “It was a set up. I could not do that. They are like a family to me and we’ve been very close to each other for long 9 years already,” said the suspect.
Cadoux said Romano who is a sister of the victim’s mother, orchestrated everything in order to gain money from him.
His statement was seconded by his former wife, Adelaida, 53, who at that time was visiting him at the jail.
“Gusto lamang niyang (Romano) perahan si Nevelle kaya tinuruan niya na magsinungaling iyong bata. Binantaan pa niya ako na uubusin daw niya ang pera ni Nevelle”, said the suspect’s ex-wife.
The suspect was charged with rape before the city prosecutor’s office.
