Demolition in McKinley Hill, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig today
SOME 100 houses of urban poor settlers are expected to be demolished today at the 10.3-hectare Lawton Street of the Consular Area Gate 2 inside McKinley Hills in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.
Private claimants of the lot and the Philippines Bases Conversion and Development Authority already told the residents last Wednesday that they will start the clearing operations today, September 20.
As of press time, 2 backhoes, 1 bulldozer are now in the vicinity as preparation for the possible demolition today.
Residents also reported that some 100+ armed security guards are massing-up around the Consular area. They are also crying foul over the illegalities of the possible demolition because it lacks Court Order and Notice of Demolitions.
As early as 6:00 AM today, residents will be massing-up and form human barricades as their defense barrier against the demolition teams. Crucial time of the demolition starts 8:00 AM.
