Groups urge passage of Magna Carta for Day Care Workers Bill
HUNDREDS of day-care workers all over the country will troop to the House of Representatives today to push for the passage of Magna Carta for Day Care Workers Bill.
Led by Akap Bata Party-List, NCR Federations of Day Care Workers, and the teachers expressed alarm that Rep. Teddy Casino’s HB No.5852 (Magna Carta for Day Care Workers Bill) will be neglected and not be passed within the 15th Congress.
Delegates said they will urge legislators to immediately pass the Magna Carta for Day Care Workers Bill as solons consciously heats-up debates over sensational issues as the RH Bill among others without taking consideration to proposed bills concerning children and their carers.
The proposed Magna Carta for Day Care Workers Bill will ensure protection and promotion of regular pay, job security and benefits for all the child carers across the country.
Enshrined in Casiño’s Magna Carta for Day Care Workers Bill are their standardized pay for the teachers, job security and benefit provisions for them.
Arlene Brosas, Akap Bata Party-List National Secretary-General Brosas said, ‘We challenge all our legislators that instead of taking more time discussing bills with less benefit for children, they must immediately pass Rep. Casiño’s pending HB#5852 before Congress session takes recess in the days to come.’
