Solon proposes Jesse Robredo building
QUEZON CITY Rep. Winston Castelo (2nd District) wanted to name the newly constructed building of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) in Quezon City after the late Secretary Jesse Robredo.
Castelo said he filed House Bill 6483 in honor of Robredo’s great contributions and brand of leadership which he left as a legacy to the Filipino people.
Castelo said the 30-storey tower has been constructed under Robredo’s watch and shall house the DILG and NAPOLCOM offices.
“This is an opportune time that we acknowledge and honor the solemn legacy left by the icon, advocate, and champion of good governance,” Castelo said.
“The building shall serve as a tangible edifice that will remind other government officials and the Filipino people that there was once a public official who had raised the quality of public service several notches higher than anyone across time,” Castelo said.
