Police nabs general’s son for killing guard in QC
POLICE have arrested a son of a retired military general for killing a security guard inside their residence in a posh village in Quezon City late Saturday afternoon, police reports said Sunday.
National Capital Regional Police Office (NCRPO) director, Chief Supt. Leonardo Espina, quoting reports from Quezon City Police District (QCPD) identified the suspect as Jose Abaya, son of retired general Antonio Abaya.
The NCRPO chief, quoting reports, said that the younger Abaya was the primary suspect in the killing of Roger Dikit Saturday afternoon at the Abaya’s residence at Kingfisher St., Greenmeadows, Quezon City.
Dikit, together with Alex Cabalde, both are security guards from Silver Cross Drug Foundation Rehab Center in Quezon City, were tasked to bring back Abaya at the rehab center where he had escaped last Friday.
The police official said in the report that the two security guards coordinated with the suspect’s mother to enter the Abaya’s residence, but failed to coordinate their action with the nearest police station.
While the two security guards where entering the premises of the Abaya’s residence, they were met with gunfire by the suspects killing Dikit on the spot and injuring Cabalde, the police official said.
The younger was then arrested by responding policemen from QCPD station 12 who are now conducting an investigation at the crime scene, Espina said.
