Green group launches indignation protest on massacre of anti-mining family

THE Kalikasan-People’s Network for the Environment and the Defend Patrimony Alliance against Mining Liberalization will stage an indignation protest action today at Department of National Defense, Camp General Emilio F Aguinaldo, Quezon City.

The protest actions is aimed to condemn the massacre of Juvy Capion (27 years old), wife of B’laan tribal leader Daguil Capion, and their children Pop (13 y/o) and John (8 y/o) in an early-morning raid by the 27th Infantry Battalion.

Daguil and his brothers Kitara and Batas led the Red Pangayaw, an indigenous defense of land, against the Xstrata-SMI Tampakan Mining Project.
