Man commits suicide after attacking mother in law in Bacolod City – PNP
A MAN committed suicide after he was charged for trying to choke to death his mother in law and stabbed a responding policeman at their home in Bacolod City Tuesday night, police reports said Wednesday.
Western Visayas Police director, Chief Supt. Agrimero Cruz Jr., identified the suspect who committed suicide as Hector Villarosa, 56 and a resident of Kabugwason, Brgy. Mansilingan, Bacolod City.
The police official said that Villarosa died on spot after jumping off the third floor of the justice hall in Bacolod City after inquest proceedings.
Prior to the incident, Villarosa was arrested by the police Tuesday night after his mother-in-law, Teresita Bagiu, complained him of attacking and choking her inside their home in the said place.
When responding policemen from Bacolod City Police office arrived at the place to settle the issue, the suspect suddenly grabbed a butcher knife and stabbed one of the policemen, reports said.
Cruz said PO1 Antonio Jimeno, was hit at the back and was brought to the Bacolod Adventist Medical Center for treatment while the suspect was detained at Bacolod City Police office.
Then on Wednesday, policemen brought the suspect to the Hall of Justice, after his inquest before the prosecutor’s office, the suspect suddenly jump-off from the third floor and died on the spot.
