Police nabs Canadian for alleged swindling attempt in Bacolod City
POLICE operatives have arrested on late Friday evening a Canadian national for alleged illegal activities and for trying to swindle a Filipino couple in Bacolod City, a police report said Saturday.
Western Visayas Police director, Chief Supt. Agrimero Cruz Jr., quoting reports from Bacolod City Police office, identified the arrested suspect as Samuel Kagma, 34-old from Quebec, Canada.
The police official said Kagma was arrested at the Bacolod Pension Plaza where he was staying base on the complaint of Rutche Echevarria and Margie Canete.
Investigation by the Bacolod City police revealed that the Canadian was asking money from the victims and promising to double it by using some chemicals, Cruz said.
Recovered from Kagma’s possession were black cardboards, syringes, two used bottles of femine wash, non-toxic paste, improvised paper wrap, packing tape and several ID’s with different names, documents and P5,000 cash belonging to his victim.
The police official said that Kagma is now detained at Bacolod City police station 1 while coordination are being made with the NBI and Bureau of Immigration.
