Teener nabbed for killing policeman in Kabankalan
POLICE have arrested a teenager who had stabbed to death a police officer following a heated argument early dawn Wednesday in a remote village in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, reports said Friday.
Reports reaching the PNP central operations center in Camp Crame identified the arrested suspect as Steven Ganza alias “Alog”, 18-years old and a resident of Kabankalan City.
Western Visayas Police director, Chief Supt. Agrimero Cruz Jr., said Ganza was the teenager who stabbed to death PO1 Erick Moques, detailed with the 6th Regional Public Safety Battalion.
The police official said the teenager is presently under custodial investigation of the Kabankalan City Police office while appropriate charges against are being readied for filing in the court.
The reports said that stabbing incident took place early dawn Wednesday when Moques accosted a group of ‘noisy’ men hanging out on a store resulting to a heated argument.
At the height of the argument, the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the police officer repeatedly. Moques was brought to the nearest hospital where he succumbs from multiple stab wounds.
