5 sangkot sa rice smuggling isinuko sa Senado

(UPDATED) SUMUKO sa Senado nitong Miyerkules ng umaga ang lima sa 20 pinaghihinalaang sangkot sa malawakang smuggling ng bigas sa Subic Freeport matapos iutos ni Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile ang pagdakip dito nang isnabin ang subpoena ng Senate committee on agriculture.

Ayon sa Office of the Sergeant-At-Arms (OSAA) ng Senado, nakilala ang mga sumuko na sina:

1. Emily Alabado, Ugnayang Magbubukid ng San Isidro Inc.;
2. Juanito A. David, Kapatirang Takusa Multi-purpose Cooperative;
3. Maximo M.Hernandez, Samahan ng Magsasakang Kapampangan at Katagalugan;
4. Elpidio Mendoza, Sili Multi-purpose Cooperative; at
5. Crisanta Reyes, Malipampang Concerned Citizens Multi-purpose Cooperative

Sinamahan sila ni San Simon, Pampanga Mayor Jerry Pelayo sa pagsuko.
