Bounty for Cabanatuan City’s radioman killer up to P2 million – police
THE bounty being offered for the arrest of the killer of a radioman in Cabanatuan City has been doubled on Tuesday by the provincial government of Nueva Ecija, a police official said.
Nueva Ecija Provincial Police director, Senior Supt, Walter Castillejos, told reporters in Camp Crame that the reward offered for the arrest of Julius Causo’s killer was raised from P1 million to P2 million.
Earlier, the Vergara Foundation headed by Cesar Vergara, former mayor of Cabanatuan City, has put up a P1 million reward money for any information that could lead to the arrests of Causo’s
The police official said that the additional P1 million reward money that was offered for the immediate arrest of Causo’s gunman came from Nueva Ecija Governor Aurelio Umali.
Castillejos said the additional reward was made by the governor in a bid for the speedy resolution of the week old case.
Earlier, Cabanatuan City police chief, Supt. Ely Depra said that their investigators are pursuing two possible angles as behind the killing of Causo, the 15th mediaman to be killed since the Aquino administration took over in mid-2010.
The two angles being looked into by police investigators as possibly behind for the killing if Causo, reporter and anchor of DwJJ, are ‘personal’ and ‘work-related’, the police official said in an earlier interview.
“We are looking into work related or personal as motive behind the killing,” Depra told reporters without elaborating.
The police official said that the slain radioman has been criticizing in his radio program certain anomalies in the locality.
Earlier reports said Causon was walking alone along Flower Lane , Brgy. Aguas, Cabanatuan City when a lone motorcycle riding gunman shot him three times early Thursday morning.
The victim was already few meters away from his the radio station where he was working when the gunman on board a black Honda XRM motorcycle appeared and shot the victim.
