Cops kill notorious wanted person in South Cotabato
AUTHORITIES have neutralized one of the most wanted persons in the Southern Mindanao region following an encounter Tuesday in a remote village in Sultan Kudarat, police reports said on Wednesday.
In a report sent to Camp Crame, Region 12 police director, Chief Supt. Alex Paul Monteagudo identified the slain wanted person as Danilo Estorba, alias “Neneng” of Sultan Kudarat.
Monteagudo said that Estorba was killed following an encounter with operatives of Southern Cotabato Provincial Police Office (SCPPO) Tuesday morning at Purok Pag-Asa, Brgy. Sampao, Lutayan, Sultan Kudarat.
The police official said that SCCPO operatives led by Supt. Barney Condes, conducted an operation to serve several warrant of arrests that were issued by different courts against Estorba.
Estorba, who has a string of criminal cases such as murder, homicide, robbery and among others, was also tagged as the murder of the village chieftain of Brgy. Cebuano, Tupi, South Cotabato.
Monteagudo said in the reports that instead of yielding to the police Estorba, listed among the most wanted persons in the region, resisted resulting to a firefight that resulted to his death.
Police have recovered from the scene of the encounter were .38 caliber revolver with six live ammo and five empty cartridges of 5.56mm ammo for rifle, while Estorba’s body was brought to a funeral house in Koranadal City.
