No damage or casualty in earthquake that hit Western Visayas
POLICE forces in the Western Visayas region have been have been alerted following a relatively strong earthquake that shook the region Wednesday afternoon, a police official said.
Western Visayas Police director, Chief Supt. Agrimero Cruz Jr., said that no damage or casualties have been monitored by the police after an intensity 5.8 temblor shook the region Wednesday afternoo.
“Our police units in the region monitored no damage and casualty from the earthquake that occurred a few minutes ago,” Cruz said.
The police official said that base on their monitoring an intensity 5.8 earthquake was felt in Cuayan, Negros Occidental while intensity earthquake was felt in the rest of Western Visayas region.
Neverheless, Cruz said that he had already place on alert all police units in his area of jurisdiction against possible aftershocks.
