P13-M drug chemicals, kagamitan winasak ng PDEA

WINASAK ng Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) ang halos P13-milyon na halaga ng chemical at laboratory equipment na gamit sa paggawa ng illegal drugs, partikular ang methamphetamine hydrochloride o shabu, sa Valenzuela City, kaninang umaga.

Sinabi ni PDEA director general Arturo Cacdac, Jr., na ang mga chemicals at lab equipment ay sinira sa pamamagitan ng chemical treatment sa Green Planet Management Inc., (GPMI) sa nasabing lungsod.

Kabilang sa 387.67 litro ng liquid chemicals na sinira ay ang toluene, hydrochloric acid, ethyl alcohol, chloroform, methyl ethyl ketone at acetone. Winasak din ang 6,037.65 kilograms ng solid chemicals na kinabibilangan ng red phosphorus, sodium acetate, barium sulfate, sodium hydroxide at carbon; at assorted laboratory equipment. Ang kabuuang halaga ng mga winasak ay umaabot sa P12.92 milyon.

“These are part of the pieces of drug evidence seized from operations conducted by PDEA combined with those turned over by other partner drug law enforcement agencies,” pahayag ni Cacdac.

Ang pagsira sa mga kemikal at kagamitan ay ikinasa bilang pagsunod sa Republic Act 9165, o ang Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, at ang Dangerous Drugs Board Regulation No.1.

Ang pagwasak ay sinaksaihan ni Supreme Court administrator, Justice Jose Midas Marquez at ang mga represenatnte mula sa Department of Justice, Department of the Interior and Local Government at non-government organizations.
