Police nabs Chinese national for bringing gun at NAIA-1
POLICE have arrested a Chinese national at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Friday for allegedly attempting to bring-out a firearm out of the country, a police reports said Saturday.
National Capital Regional Police Office (Ncrpo) chief, Director Leonardo Espina, quoting reports reaching his office identified the arrested Chinese national as Ming Jian Ling, 30-years.
The police official, quoting reports said that the Chinese was arrested at around 6:15am Friday at the Initial East Security Checkpoint Table Desk of NAIA Terminal-1 in Pasay City.
The reports said that Philip Michael Juan, baggage inspector, viewed from the x-ray monitor that a .22 caliber magnum firearm was concealed inside Ming’s traveling bag while undergoing security inspection.
The baggage inspector quickly reported the incident to PO2 Jomer Zurbano, who is assigned at the security desk of NAIA Terminal 1, immediately arrested Ming and confiscated the said firearm.
The Chinese national will be charged for violation of illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, the police official said.
