Tricycle driver surrenders after killing elder brother
A tricycle driver surrendered to the authorities on Saturday after accidentally stabbing to death his elder brother at the house of their father in a remote village in Agusan del Sur, police reports said Sunday.
Reports at the PNP operations center in Camp Crame, identified the suspect as Joselito Legera de Asis, 29, resident of Sitio Kalingawan, Brgy. Bayugan 3, Rosario, Agusan del Sur.
The reports said de Asis surrendered to Bayugan village official a few hours after he stab to death his elder brother, Frederick Legera de Asis, 33, also a tricycle driver in the same village.
The reports said the stabbing incident took place Friday evening at the house of the victim and suspect’s father, Elpideo de Asis at P-7, Sitio Kalingawan in Brgy. 3 in Rosario town.
The younger de Asis when to his father’s house to watch TV when the victim arrived along with his brother-in-law who was armed with a handgun and planned to kill the suspect, the reports.
The reports said that a commotion ensued inside the house with the suspect stabbing his elder brother at the right breast and was rushed to the Bunawan District Hospital, but was declared dead on arrival.
The suspect surrendered a few hours later to Reynaldo Coyus, chairman of Brgy. Bayugan and is now under custody of the Rosario Municipal Police station for proper disposition.
