Belmonte’s New Year wish: A renewal that need not be imposed
HOUSE Speaker Feliciano Belmonte, Jr. said the coming of the New Year is an opportunity for assessment and renewal.
“We examine where we have failed and the trials that have visited us, so that we are able to face the coming year stronger and with a resolve to become better, he said.
“I believe that we can translate this into an optimism that will result in a far better Philippines. Through each one’s determination towards discipline, being an instrument to end divisiveness and corruption, we can move in unison as one people, however diverse we may be culturally and socially.
“I wish for this country a renewal that need not be imposed but instead comes from within each one of us. It may not be an easy path to take but I am certain that the end result will be a proud people of a nation that has developed from an inspiration and determination to succeed,” Belmonte said in a statement.
May 2013 be a new beginning for each of us and for our nation. Isa pong mapayapa, masagana at makabuluhang Bagong Taon sa inyong lahat, he said.
