Carnap suspect killed, three arrested following a gunbattle in Caloocan City
ONE carnapping suspect was killed and three others were arrested following an encounter with police in a suburban village in Caloocan City late Wednesday afternoon, police reports said.
Reports at the National Capital Regional Police Office (NCRPO) identified the slain carnapping suspects as a certain alias Owel while arrested were Sandro Santiago, Jake Linasan and Jimmy Balasta.
NCRPO chief Director Leonardo Espina, quoting reports, said that the encounter between the suspects and lawmen occurred at around 4:20pm at Brgy. 178 Kiko in Camarin, Caloocan City.
Prior to the said encounter, Espina said the Caloocan City police office reportedly had receive an information that members of carnapping group were about to hold a meeting at the place.
A team from the Caloocan City police office was quickly dispatched to the said place to check on the information that they have received, the Ncrpo chief,
The police official said that upon arrival of the police team at the said place, they were immediately met with a volley of gunfire coming from the group prompting them to return fire.
One suspect was killed and three suspects were then arrested in the ensuing gunbattle lasing for several minutes, the NCRPO chief said.
