Ex-PBA Star Dennis Espino arraigned for serious illegal detention and possession of firearms
FORMER PBA star Dennis Espino will be arraigned today at the Regional Trial Court Branch 42 on charges of serious illegal detention and possession of firearms
Yesterday, Espino was arrested by the police in Pampanga.
The charges arrest stemmed from a complaint by his former secretary, Mildred Eiman, who accused the player of locking her up for over a month for her failure to pay a debt amounting to P5,000.
Espino eluded arrest for more than eight months, which according to the police was due to his political connections in Pampanga.
is a big first step towards achieving justice for simple folk like Mildred Eiman, who only wanted to earn a decent living as Espino’s farm secretary, but was treated unjustly by the former basketball star.” This was the statement of Terry Ridon, Eiman’s defense lawyer in the ‘retaliation suit’ filed by Espino against his former secretary.
In this other case, Espino was accusing Eiman of qualified theft for allegedly taking money from his farm.
“The heroic efforts of the CIDG led by Director Samuel Pagdilao Jr. must be commended for taking the lead in bringing Espino to justice,” Ridon said.
Ridon said Eiman’s camp will make sure that Espino will be locked behind bars for a long time.
