Man shot dead in front of brother in Agusan del Sur
A middle-age man was shot and killed by still unidentified gunmen late Wednesday evening in front of his brother in a remote village in Esperanza, Agusan del Sur, police reports said Friday.
Belated reports reaching the PNP operations center in Camp Crame identified the shooting victim as Antonip Salamangca, 41-yrs old and resident of Purok 8, Brgy. Salug in Esperanza town.
The reports said that the shooting incident took place at around 8pm Wednesday while the victim was talking to his brother, Dennis Salamangca at Purok 8, Brgy. Poblacion also of the said town.
While in the middle of their conversation, the suspect, wearing a blue jacket and fatigue short pants, came out from nowhere and repeatedly shot the victim without any provocation, reports said.
The reports said the victim sustained a gunshot wounds on his chin and right portion of his breast and was rushed to the Esperanza Medicare Community Hospital, but was pronounced dead on arrival by attending physician.
Elements of the Esperanza Municipal Police Station are still conducting an investigation to determine the motive for the attack and possible identification and arrest of the suspect, reports said.
