Pablo’s death toll now over 700 – NDRRMC
DEATH toll from Typhoon Pablo continues to rise and have already reached the 700 mark Tuesday even as the weather disturbance had weakened into a tropical depression.
Latest update released by the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (NDRRMC) has placed the typhoon death toll to 714 with 1,906 injured and 890 persons still remain missing.
The NDRRMC reports said that of the total fatalities about 457 of them have already been identified and 257 still remain unknown.
About than 114,583 houses have been either destroyed or damaged and 486,554 families or 5.408 million people have been affected by the typhoon in several regions in Visayas and Mindanao, the reports said.
The NDRRMC reports also said that total cost of damage left by the typhoon have breached the P7 billion mark with agriculture sector losing P3.618 billion in crops and livestocks and P3.47 billion damage to infrastructure.
