Pagkakasuspinde kay Gov. Garcia, ‘di politically motivated – M’cañang

HINDI politically motivated ang pagkakasuspinde kay Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia, ayon sa tagapagsalita ng Malakanyang.

Si Garcia ay pinatawan ng 120 days preventive suspension ng Office of the Ombudsman na idinaan sa pamamagitan ng Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).

“Well, I can assure you (that) politics has nothing to do with it as far as we are concerned. May mga prosesong sinunod ‘yung mga kaso. We just let the processes take its course,” ayon kay Presidential Communications Development and Strategic Planning Office (PCDSPO) Sec. Ricky Carandang.

Binigyang diin ni Carandang na walang isyu ng politika sa bagay na ito dahil ito’y isang uri ng reklamo na kailangan lamang na aksyunan.

Ang kaso ni Garcia ay kaugnay sa kasong usurpation at grave abuse of authority na isinampa ni dating Vice Governor Gregorio ”Greg” Sanchez.

Nag-ugat ang nasabing kaso ni Garcia makaraang ipitin ang pondo ng Office of the Vice Governor ng lalawigan.

Binigyang diin ni Carandang na walang go signal ni Pangulong Aquino ang pagkakasuspinde kay Garcia dahil ito’y “they’re regular processes that would take place. It’s just the regular process. It wasn’t viewed in a political manner.”

Samantala, pormal nang nanumpa si Vice Governor Agnes Magpale bilang acting provincial governor ng lalawigan ng Cebu.
