PNP to donate part of salary for typhoon victims
MEMBERS of the Philippine National Police (PNP) will donate P7.7 million for victims of Typhoon Pablo, a ranking government official said.
Interior Secretary Manuel Roxas II said that the said amount will be pooled by deducting P50 each from the salaries of policemen and civilian personnel of the PNP.
“Due consultation with the rank and file of the all PNP personnel, policemen and non-uniformed personnel the consensus is that each of them will donate P50 for typhoon victims,” Roxas said.
Earlier, PNP chief, Director General Nicanor Bartolome ordered the cancellation of Christmas parties of all PNP units and stations in the country and the savings should be given as donation for typhoon victims.
On the other hand, PNP community relation chief, Director Lina Sarmiento said that their police regional offices are also in the thick of collection donations for victims of Typhoon Pablo.
