PNP to reshuffle some officers to key post

SEVERAL senior police officials are set to take their new positions next week in a minor police revamp following the premature retirement of from the police of former PNP chief, Director General Nicanor Bartolome.

Bartolome has prematurely retired from the police service last Tuesday and paving the way for the appointment of Deputy Director General Alan Purisima for the top police post.

PNP Spokesman, Chief Supt. Generoso Cerbo Jr., said Friday that Director Ager Ontog will take over the post of The Chief of Directorial Staff, which was previously occupied by Purisima.

Taking over Ontog’s old post of PNP Director for Intelligence is Director Vidal Querol, commander of the PNP’s elite unit, the Special Action Force (SAF), the PNP spokesman said.

While Caraga police director, Chief Supt. Carmelo Valmoria has been designated as the new SAF commander, Cerbo said. No words yet on who will take over Valmoria’s of position.
