Regal is the true home of stars from all networks!
THIS holiday season, Regal is the true home of stars— from all networks.
Regal producer Mother Lily Monteverde has always taken pride in the fact that she can easily work with the biggest stars from the country’s top networks: ABS-CBN, GMA7 and TV5. Mother Lily also has the foresight to sign up TV stars before they make it big in the movies.
After all, “Shake” has become an annual tradition that allows the whole barkada, and the entire family, to troop to the moviehouse— to shake, rattle and roll in pure delight.
“Shake” will continue to be the movie-of-choice among the young and young-at-heart this Christmas season — especially since the industry’s most seasoned and most promising stars are in the cast of the consistent festival topgrosser.
It’s the unmistakable Regal touch.
A perfect example is Chito Roño’s Shake, Rattle and Roll: The Invasion, Regal’s entry in this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival.
The latest “Shake” features veterans and newcomers alike, and gathers Kapamilya, Kapuso and Kapatid stars.
Only Mother Lily could pull off such a casting coup.
Moreover, “Shake” also showcases the works of the country’s top screenwriters: Ricky Lee, Roy Iglesias and Rody Vera.
“We wanted to make sure that we had the best stories for this year’s ‘Shake’ which is considered the flagship project of Regal,” said Mother Lily. “It all begins with a good story, after all.”
Another secret of the “Shake” franchise is its stellar cast, which always combines tried-and-tested professionals with fresh discoveries.
In Lee’s “Pamana” episode, Direk Chito and producer Roselle Monteverde had the brilliant idea of casting the stars of the original “Shake” movie: Janice de Belen, Arlene Muhlach and Herbert Bautista.
It was a fitting homage to the first “Shake,” which is regarded as a modern classic by cineastes, said Mother Lily.
The three veteran actors shared the screen with newbies Ivan Dorschner, Empress Schuck, Gerald Pesigan, Anna Vicente and Fabio Ide, along with seasoned performers Dennis Padilla and Dimples Romano.
It was also fitting that in the second episode, Iglesias’ “Unwanted,” a Kapamilya and a Kapuso were cast as the lead stars.
Imagine that, the host of “Showtime” and the star of “Yesterday’s Bride” sharing the big screen together.
ABS-CBN’s Vhong Navarro and GMA7’s Lovi Poe gamely shared the screen with CGI creatures, too.
“They were pros. They rose to the challenge of interacting with and reacting to imaginary, computer-generated creatures,” said Direk Chito. “The shoot was a breeze because of Vhong and Lovi’s professionalism.”
Also in the cast of “Unwanted” are TV5’s Eula Caballero with ABS-CBN’s Albie Casiño and Chokoleit.
The third episode, Vera’s “Lost Command,” was the most daunting, as it topbills the most-sought-after hunks in showbiz: Dennis Trillo of GMA 7, Paulo Avelino of ABS-CBN and Martin Escudero of TV5, ably supported by Rommel Padilla, Chris Pasturan, JC Tiuseco, Ella Cruz and Makisig Morales.
It proved “challenging” juggling the schedules of the lead stars, Direk Chito admitted.
Making matters more arduous, the action-thriller is mostly set in the rainforests of Subic.
“It was physically gruelling. Mentally draining,” said Direk Chito.
Fortunately, Direk Chito, like Regal, doesn’t shy away from challenges, no matter how daunting.
“Chito and I think that the latest ‘Shake’ is the most ambitious, in terms of scale and story. The cast alone is the biggest we’ve had so far,” said Mother Lily.
Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha!
Think about it, mudra? Hahahahahahahahahaha!
Kung talagang sincere ka sa ‘yong intention, your peace offering would be to put a stop to your diabolical schemes, old goat.
But at the rate things are going, you are vey much into this panghaharang scheme of yours, do you think I would be touched with your talingharap ways? Hahahahahahahahaha!
But I couldn’t care less! You can do whatever you want to do but in the end, I would still be the one who’s going to be victorious. Hahahahahahahaha!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Here it goes. Hahahahahahahahaha!
Harharharharhar!
“Binansagan siyang BJ Queen ni Tandang Rino Fernan noong dekada 70,” asseverates our source, “dahil nahuli siyang nagbu-blow job sa isang poging security guard ng GMS Publication. (Really? I’m shocked and horrified! Hahahahahahaha! Char!)
“That time talaga,” further elaborates our knowledgeable source, “akala namin bakla ‘yan dahil hindi pa sikat (yuck!yuck!yuck!) at mukhang bakla.
“Lagi raw tanong BH kung buhay pa Rino Fernan,” he intones, amusement written all over his face. ”
What’s GMS Publications?
“G Miranda & Sons Publication ‘yun,” explains our source. “Publication ni Aling Letty Miranda.
“Doon unang nagsulat si BH,” he patiently explains. “Office noon tapat ng UST.
“Anyhow, sabi ni Rino Fernan, gwapo raw ‘yung gwardiya at dahil panget BH (my gosh! Hakhakhakhakhak!), itinuring siyang bakla! (really? so very insulting naman ever! Hahahahahahahaha!)”
I’m sure na-touch ka.
Na-touch raw, o! Hahahahahahahahahahahaha!
Samahan pa ‘yan ng ensaymada with a twist: mayroong may Parmesan cheese, queso de bola, at pwede rin namang higanteng version nito!
‘Di raw cold at isnabera!
HAHAHA!
Hahahahahaha!
Really? And you want me to believe your lies?
Just the same, like I said, I will forever be an ardent follower of the Queenstar for all Seasons Ms. Vilma Santos but I would never allow any shabby treatment coming from her caustic ayudante.
Wala naman akong ginagawang masama, ano?
Ang kaso, deadmatic and perenially cold itong si Madam Fandialan every time I’d get to see her in some sosyalan with Ate Vi, giving everyone the stark impression that she was in no mood to socialize, save with the few press people that she ostensibly favored; the likes of which happens to be Ed de Leon and his ilk to whom she would generously be giving updates on Mayor Vi’s itinerary for the week in Batangas.
Anyhow, kung ang Queenstar ay personified, (she’s always been I guess from way, way back!) ang kanyang matron-in-waiting ay talaga namang uncouth and palpably cavalier.
Kaya sa halip na ikatuwa namin ang makita in person ang paborito naming personalidad, parang naaalangan tuloy kaming lumapit at ibeso siya with her cold ayudante in tow.
I just hope I made it loud and clear that I still am and will always be an avid Vilmanian.
Hindi man kami magkita o makalimutan man kami ni Ate Vi, no problem.
Hindi man kami nagkakausap lately, what’s important is that in my heart, she’ll always be there.

And with that, ito po ang kuya Pete ninyo na nagsasabing, Christopher, my son, I love you very, very much, my love for you goes beyond eternity. Adios. Mabalos. I always need you, Nong!
