Solons confident of another Pacquiao victory
HOUSE members today expressed confidence of another victory of their colleague Rep. Manny Pacquiao (Lone District, Sarangani) when he battles Mexican fighter Juan Manuel Marquez tomorrow, as they agreed the solon’s expected win and show of determination will provide hope to Filipinos especially those devastated recently by typhoon Pablo.
According to the lawmakers, Pacquiao himself had experienced many ups and downs in his career but managed to rise up from any defeat or challenge that came along his way.
Deputy Speaker and Zamboanga City Rep. Maria Isabelle Climaco said there is no doubt that the stronger and more prepared Pacquiao will win the untitled welterweight bout against Marquez.
“We continuously pray for Manny’s victory and safety during the entire match. His victory will provide inspiration and hope to Filipinos, especially those affected recently by typhoon Pablo, for they never to give up in the face of any adversity or challenge,” said Climaco.
Rep. Janette Garin (1st District, Iloilo), the Senior Deputy Majority Leader, said they have great belief in Pacquiao’s capability to once again defeat his long-time boxing rival Marquez.
“Manny is smarter, faster and stronger than Marquez. His legion of fans and even his critics know it. He will certainly win his fourth match against Marquez. His show of determination will serve as inspiration to Filipinos especially those who are now recovering from typhoon Pablo’s devastation,” said Garin.
Rep. Neri Colmenares (Party-list, Bayan Muna) said Pacquiao cannot afford to disappoint his countrymen especially in the face of the devastation left by typhoon Pablo to his fellow Mindanaoans and also those from the Visayas region.
“Once again, our nation is united in praying for Manny’s victory. His expected win will once again exemplify his courage, strength and resilience in the face of any match or opponent. The victory will give hope and encouragement to Filipinos for them to face bravely their own battles in life,” said Colmenares, a Vice Chairman of the Committee on Suffrage and Electoral Reform.
