Start of Misa de Galo in Metro Manila peaceful – Espina
THE opening night of the traditional Misa de Galo in Metro Manila was generally peaceful and orderly, a police official said Sunday.
Metro Manila police chief, Director Leonardo Espina said police districts have not monitored or reported any untoward incident in the metropolis at the start of Misa Galo.
“Base on report of all police districts.. Situation within the vicinity of all churches in Metro Manila we’re very normal,” Espina said.
The police official said that they will continue their task of ensuring that Metro residences will have a very peaceful and crime free Yuletide season.
Earlier, police forces in the metropolis have been alerted and advised to maintain strong vigilance for possibe surge of crime and terror attacks during holidays.
The traditional Misa de Gallo or Simbang Gabi is the official start of holiday season in the country that ends on Three Kings day in January.
