Truck driver hacked to death by neighbor in Bayugan City
A truck driver was hacked to death by his neighbor following a heated argument shortly before Friday midnight in a remote village in Bayugan City, Agusan del Sur, police reports said Saturday.
Reports reaching the PNP operations center in Camp Crame identified the victim Ronald Aberlado Bucayon, alias “Dondon”, 32, married and resident of Brgy. Poblacion in Bayugan City.
While the suspect, who was arrested by responding policemen was identified as Camaloden Benito Abdula, 34, married and resident of Purok 1A, Brgy. Tagalatawan also in the same city.
The reports said the hacking incident occurred at around 11:30pm Thursday while the two were talking at Purok 18, Buri St., Brgy. Tagalawan when a heated argument ensued between the two.
Abdula, in the middle of their argument, reportedly drew out a two-foot long bolo and started hacking and hitting the victim several times in his body and killing him almost instantly, the reports said.
The reports said that the suspect was arrested by responding policemen an hour after the incident and is now detained at Bayugan City police station while charges are being readied against him.
