Typhoon Pablo’s damage ballooned to P34 billion – NDRRMC
DAMAGE cost by Typhoon Pablo to infrastructure and agriculture sector have ballooned to more than P34 billion with hundreds more still remain missing in Mindanao, government reports said Saturday.
Update released by the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (Ndrrmc) has placed the damage cost left by Typhoon Pablo to P34. 4 billion with agriculture sector sustaining the most damage.
The Ndrrmc reports said that the agriculture sector has lost some P26.52 billion in crops and livestock products while damage to infrastructure was at P7.83 billion and private properties to P49.3 million.
While the number of typhoon casualties still with 1,050 dead, 354 of whom were to be identified, 2,662 persons injured and 838 persons still remain missing, the Ndrrmc reports said.
The Ndrrmc reports added that more 711, 682 families or 6, 243, 998 persons have been affected by the typhoon which destroyed or damage a total of 168, 227 houses in ten regions in Visayas and Mindanao.
