KINUWESTIYON sa Korte Suprema ang legalidad ng Republic Act 10354 o ang Act Providing for a National Policy on Responsible Parenthood and Repreductive Health (RH Law).

Sa 25-pahinang petition for certiorari, hiniling ng mga petitioners na sina James at Lovely Imbong bilang kinatawan ng kanilang minor children and the Magnificat Child Development Center sa Korte Suprema na ipatigil ang implementasyon ng nasabing batas.

“This case will present the illegality of the Act as it mocks the nation’s Filipino culture–noble and lofty in its values and holdings on life, motherhood and family life–now the fragile lifeblood of a treasured culture that today stands solitary but proud in contrast to other nations”, ayon sa mga petitioner.

“There is neither a charge nor qualification too that policy, except that the life of the mother is equally important as the life of the unborn and rightly so. In fact, the charge is against the State itself—that it shall do one thing when it comes to the potential of human life: to protect it from the moment of conception,” sabi pa ng mga  petitioner.

Sina Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa, Budget Secretary Florencio Abad, Health Secretary Enrique Ona, Education Secretary Armin Luistro at Interior and Local Government secretary Manuel Roxas II ay kasama sa mga respondents.
