Police rescues young boy from kidnappers in Quezon
POLICE rescued on Saturday a ten-year old boy and arrested three kidnap suspects in a daring rescue operation early dawn Saturday in a sub-urban village in Quezon province.
Initial report by Senior Supt. Rene Gumban, chief of the PNP’s Anti-Kidnapping Group (AKG), said the rescue operation took place at around 2am Saturday in Brgy. Ilayan, Baguio, Tayabas City in Quezon.
Gumban, in the reports said, the operation resulted to rescue of kidnap victim identified only as “Jocar” 10, and led to the arrest of suspects namely Emerson Ocado, Rhoderick Abella and Bryan Abella.
The AKG chief said the young boy was kidnapped by the suspects last January 10, 2013 somewhere in Luisiana, Laguna and demanded still unspecified amount for the boy’s safe release.
The boy’s family reportedly paid P65, 000 as ransom money to the kidnappers, but failed to release the boy prompting them to seek the help of the authorities, Gumban said in the report.
AKG operatives then hatched a plan to rescue the young boy from the custody of the three suspects.
The kidnap victim is now in the custody of AKG operatives and was reunited with his family while appropriate charges are being readied against the three arrested suspects, Gumban said.
