Riding in tandem suspects kill mining employee in Agusan de Sur
RIDING in tandem suspects killed a mining employee who was on his way home from work late Monday afternoon in a remote village in Bunawan, Agusan del Sur, police reports said Wednesday.
Reports sent by the Caraga police office to Camp Crame identified the victim as Edilmero Peñera, 32, married, an employee of Philsaga Mining Corp., and resident of San Teodoro, Bunawan.
The reports said that the shooting incident took place at around 5:20 pm while the victim was driving his TMX motorcycle on his way home from work along a highway in San Andres, Bunawan.
The suspects, onboard a Rusi single motorcycle suddenly came out from nowhere and shot Peñera four times hitting him in different parts of his body and killing him instantly, reports said.
The reports said that recovered from the crime scene were four empty cartridges of 45 caliber pistol while bullet slug was recovered from the victim’s body. Police are now investigating the said incident.
