Two nabbed for gun ban violations in Panay
TWO persons were arrested in separate police operations for violation of Commission on Elections (ComeleC) gun ban, which was started to be implemented last Sunday.
Reports by the Western Visayas Police office headed by Chief Supt. Agrimero Cruz Jr., identified the arrested gun ban violator as Roberto Norilla, 18 of Antique and Florentino Pepito, 32 of Iloilo.
Reports said Norilla was arrested by the members of San Jose Police Station for violating the Commission on Elections gun ban at Barangay Mojon, San Jose, Antique Sunday morning.
Seized from the possession of Norilla was a caliber .22 revolver with no serial number and has three cartridges on its cylinder, reports said.
The reports said Investigation revealed that the police saw a firearm bulging on the waist of Norilla and when checked,Norilla failed to present pertinent documents for the legality of his firearm.
Pepito, 32, was arrested early morning of Sunday inside the Public Market of Banate, Iloilo for violation of Comelec gun ban for carrying a caliber 38 homemade revolver with three live ammo.
The reports said Pepito is now detained at Banate Police Station while appropriate charges are being readied against him.
