MANILA, Philippines – Sinibak sa pwesto ni Bureau of Immigration (BI) Commissioner Norman Tansingco ang dalawang empleyado nito dahil sa pagkakasangkot sa iligal na gawain.
Batay sa pinirmahang kautusan ni Tansingco nitong Enero 17, sinibak sa kanilang pwesto ang dalawang Immigration Officers matapos na makatanggap ng intelligence reports na sangkot sila sa trafficking activities sa Clark International Airport (CIA) at sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).
“We have received information that the two have links to trafficking syndicates,” ayon kay Tansingco.
“We are initiating an investigation to verify this information, and if there is indeed probable cause, we shall file the appropriate case before the Department of Justice (DOJ),” dagdag pa nito.
Paliwanag ni Tansinco na bilang preventive measure, ang dalawa ay ia-assign sa back-end office duties habang isinasagawa ang imbestigasyon.
“While imposing penalties would be subject to the resolution of possible cases against them, we are relieving them from frontline duty to ensure unbiased investigation,” paliwanag ni Tansingco.
