321 Pinoy na namamatay kada araw sa tobacco, inalala sa Baguio

BAGUIO CITY – Aabot sa 321 pares ng mga sapatos, sandals at tsinelas ang inilatag sa Malcolm Square kahapon, Abril 21, bilang paggunita sa 321 Pilipinong nasasawi kada araw dahil sa mga sakit na dulot ng paninigarilyo.

Kaugnay nito, isang maikling programa rin ang inilunsad sa lugar na dinaluhan nina City Health Officer Dr. Rowena Galpo, Atty. Kristina Louise Magalong bilang kinatawan ni Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong, ImagineLaw Executive Director Atty. Sophia San Luis, at Councilor Joel Alangsab, ang principal author ng Smoke Free Baguio Ordinance.

Ang naturang Art Installation ay sanib-pwersang ginawa ng public interest law organization na ImagineLaw, at ng lokal na pamahalaang lungsod ng Baguio.

Nakatuwang din sa nasabing aktibidad ang Smokefree Cities Asia Pacific Network (SCAN), Smoke-free Benguet, Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center, Baguio SLU – Medicine Campus, Lions Club, Rotaract Club of Baguio SLU – School of Medicine, Future Physicians for Health and Human Rights, SLU School of Medicine Medical Outreach Missions, Pines City Colleges School of Medicine, Department Health Cordillera, PhilHealth Cordillera, Department of Education, Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Land Transport and Franchising Regulatory Board, National Bureau of Investigation, Social Security System, Department of Transportation, Baguio-Benguet Ecumenical Group, Smoke-free City and Community Task Force, University of Baguio, University of the Cordilleras, St. Joseph de Mary Learning Center, at ang Free Believers in Christ Fellowship International.
