THERE’S no stopping for equally energetic and dedicated Navotas City Rep. Toby Tiangco and Valenzuela City Rep. Rex Gatchalian, both erstwhile local chief executives.

Now representing their respective city to the House of Representatives, Tiangco and Gatchalian have been closely working hand-in-hand to make sure that they’re fulfilling their promises to their constituents and to the wider scope of service – to the Filipino people.

Both were part of a historic event where they joined the bicameral conference for the Subscriber Identity Module Card Registration Act where they, along with other lawmakers from the Upper and Lower Chambers, reconciled the varying provisions of the Senate and House versions.

The Navotas lawmaker was more pre-occupied as he’s the House chairman of the Information and Communications Technology Committee while Gatchalian happened to be one of the principal authors.

According to the Valenzuela lawmaker, who like Tiangco when he was the Navotas mayor, had been hugely credited by the folks for gearing the city towards progress and quality standard of living.

He’s also extra thankful to Tiangco for making him part of the Bicameral Conference Committee level.
The two former mayors-turned-legislators were hopeful that with the President’s signing of the version into law, the nefarious and fraudulent activities involving the use of SIM will soon be eradicated.

“ALONG” AWARDS LOT TO 53 FAMILIES

Caloocan Mayor Along Malapitan has awarded lot to 32 families and issued deed of sale to 21 others under the Camarin 1 and 2 Project of the city’s Housing and Resettlement Office and the National Housing Authority.

Acting HARO chief Engr. Noemi Obina said the occupants shall settle a minimal amount payable up to 25 years to the city government which helps secure their current homes.

Malapitan said his administration as well as that of his father, now Rep. Oca Malapitan, have been working closely with the concerned housing agencies to ensure the grating of housing units to qualified poor families in the city.
