AFP aircraft modernization, pinahahanapan ng pondo sa DBM

MANILA, Philippines – Umapela si Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri sa Department of Budget and Management (DBM) na maghanap ng pondo para maisaayos ang aniya’y “aging fleet” ng Philippine Air Force (PAF).

Kasunod ito ng pagbagsak ng C-130 aircraft ng PAF sa Sulu noong Linggo kung saan 52 ang namatay.

Giit ni Zubira, dapat nang madaliin ang aircraft modernization sa Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) para hindi na maulit ang kaparehong trahedya.

“This is one of the worst air disasters for the Air Force and the AFP. We really need to fast-track our aircraft modernization so we can stop ruining lives like this, and ensure that no other accident surpasses this one in the future,” saad ni Zubiri.

Bukod sa pagpapaganda ng mga eroplano ng militar, isinusulong din ng senador ang pagpapalakas ng training program sa mga military pilots para sa fixed-wing at rotor-wing aircraft.

“Modernization entails not only buying the best aircraft and equipment but also providing state-of-the-art and extensive training for our military personnel,” aniya.

“We have to invest in simulators, so we can consistently train our soldiers without risking their lives, or the lives of civilians.” RNT

Muli namang iginiit ni Zubiri na handa ang Senado na tulungan ang militar sa pondo nito para hindi na maulit pa ang Sulu plane crash.
