BPI nag-sorry sa nadobleng transaksyon

MANILA, Philippines- Humingi ng paumanhin ang Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) nitong Huwebes para sa duplicate transactions sa mga account ng mga kliyente nitong holidaysat tiniyak na pagbubutihin ang serbisyo nito.

Pinasalamatan naman ng Ayala-led lender ang “customers and stakeholders for their patience, understanding, and support” at sinabing ikinalulungkot nito ang “incident and its effect.”

“No one is ever perfect, and when you stumble, you admit [it] and address [it],” sabi ni BPI President at CEO Jose Teodoro Limcaoco.

“This incident only strengthens our resolve to always pursue excellence, uphold the highest banking standards, and repay the trust and confidence our customers place in us,” dagdag niya.

Nauna nang iniulat ng BPI earna ilang transaksyon, kabilang ang isinagawa sa automated teller machines (ATMs), cash accept machine (CAM) deposits, point-of-sale transactions, at e-commerce debit, mula December 30 at December 31, 2022, ang nadoble.

Sinabi ni BPI Chief Customer at Marketing Officer Cathy Santamaria na “only some clients were affected,” subalit wala nang ibang detalye ang agad na inilabas.

Inilahad ng bangko nitong Miyerkules ng gabi na naresolba na nit ang  double posting ng mga transaksyon.

“BPI is committed to [reviewing] and [improving] existing systems, processes, and controls to address gaps and pursue enhancements to prevent recurrence,” anito.

“At BPI, we understand that when our customers bank with us, they are giving us their trust. They have our assurance that their accounts are safe and secure,” dagdag ng BPI. RNT/SA
