China ‘trespasser’ sa Ayungin Shoal – Lorenzana

Manila, Philippines – Tinawag ng Department of National Defense (DND) na trespasser ang mga taga-China sa Ayungin Shoal, batay sa ulat.

“As far as I know there is no such commitment. That ship has been there since 1999. If there was (a) commitment it would have been removed a long time ago,” saad ni Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana.

Aniya, ang Ayungin Shoal lies ay nasa  exclusive economic zone (EEZ) ng Pilipinas kung saan mayroon itong sovereign rights.

“Our EEZ was awarded to us by the 1982 UNCLOS (United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea) which China ratified. China should abide by its international obligations that it is part of,” saad nito sa Facebook post.

“Furthermore, the 2016 Arbitral award ruled that the territorial claim of China has no historic nor legal basis. Ergo, we can do whatever we want there and it is they who are actually trespassing.”

Paliwanag pa ni Lorenzana, may dalawang dokumento ang Maynila na magpapatunay na may karapatan ito sa EEZ kaysa sa Beijing.

“[S]ila ay wala (nito) at yung claim nila ay walang basehan (They don’t have this and their claim doesn’t have a basis.” RNT/FGDC
