Deportasyon ng POGO workers tatalakayin ng DOJ chief, Chinese ambassador

MANILA, Philippines- Sinabi ni Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla onitong Martes na makikipagkita siya sa Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines ukol sa deportasyon ng mga empleyado ng Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators na hindi lisensyado.

Sa hearing ng Senate Committee on Finance sa budget ng Department of Justice, inihayag ni Remulla na mayroong 216 lisensyadong POGO companies na hindi na nagbabayad ng kanilang utang.

Sa pagtataya ni Remulla, halos 40,000 empleyado ng POGO companies ang iligal na nananatili sa bansa.

“But the problem right now that we are facing is the protocol of China in admitting deportations because they have a specific requirement of the testing procedures,” ani Remulla.

“So this afternoon, Mr. Chairman, I’ll be speaking to the Ambassador of China to make sure that our protocol for deportation is followed properly so we may be able to start deporting these people,” dagdag niya.

Samantala, sinabi ni Senator Sherwin Gatchalian na magkakaroon ng hearing sa revenue at economic benefits ng POGOs sa Huwebes.

Sa hiwalay na pahayag, iginiit naman ni Senator Risa Hontiveros na noon pa lamang ay dapat binuwag na ang POGOs sa bansa.

“Pagkatapos ng imbestigasyon at pagdinig tungkol sa mga krimeng dala ng POGO, I stated in our committee report that POGO as a national policy should be revisited,” ani Hontiveros.

“I am glad that there are renewed calls for the complete banning of POGOs. POGOs have not brought anything good to our country. Palayasin na dapat sila sa lalong madaling panahon,” dagdag niya. RNT/SA
